Oops, sorry!

My bad, it's been nearly a month since I updated my blog. The year started oddly and right when school started, my life started traveling beyond the speed limit. I don't think I have taken the time to really reflect on 2010 so far, other than my car rides to and from school. Right now, sitting in front of me are my 8th grade students taking their 2nd Periodic Assessment. As I look at my classroom, I can't help but feel proud of them...most of them seem to be thinking hard, one asleep, a couple zoning out...but nonetheless...I am confident in them!

School has been crazy, one month done already so that only means 3 more months left. To be honest, I am not ready to leave the classroom. It's too fun but it's also a lot of work. I've been prepping my kids for this exam and we've been pressed against the wall because of time. 1 month to teach 3 units of Atoms, Periodic Table and Chemical Reaction?!? Sometimes I like but also hate standards-based teaching.

All I can say is that I can't wait until the last month of school...I won't be teaching anymore standards and purely do labs that have no point to them like dissecting cows eyes, making DNA necklaces, and making ice cream! After all, I don't even remember the science that I learned in middle school but I do remember the fun activities...

I really don't know what I have been up to other than school. Prepping for interviews, learning about different companies, and oh yea, my damn masters' program. In May, I will have a M.A. in Education...but quite frankly, I haven't learned much in the program.

So I've been reading up on Adsense and Adwords lately for Google and I'm considering of using Adsense to make some pocket change with this blog...maybe....also, what's up with this Google Buzz?!? It's like a mix of facebook's status with twitter. I don't know about this...

I'm frustrated with Yahoo Fantasy Basketball. My team is decent, but something's wrong; I'm not winning. Need to make some blockbuster deals now...
