Straight from MS Words
First day was exciting. I went in 15 minutes before we were supposed to be there. Got organized into a group and started chatting with other. Then we go through this new googler training with multiple presentations and such. Afterwards, my buddy/mentor came to pick me up and introduces me to the team.
Tues & Wed- Nothing much happening here. Just trying to get settled at work and doing this self-guided training which consist of watching videos about what DoubleClick is and what the advertising industry is. I got a pretty good desk setup with a brand new 15” macbook pro and a huge monitor.
Thurs- got in, ate breakfast, started working right away. Just wanted to get all the videos over with early in the day. Nothing too special today except that every Thursday, they have happy hour called TGIAF (Thank God it’s almost Friday). It’s just a bunch of free beer in one of the cafeteria. One beer and I’m red already. So lame…
Fri- Finished my self-training videos. TGIF! But I barely did anything this week so the Friday wasn’t deserving. I also signed up for this ping pong tournament at work so I played my first match. I won! Anyways, Friday carried on and I played ping pong again for the last hour of work with a colleague and then went home.
Dang, I can’t write too much about work. I feel that Google is always watching me and there are things that we must keep confidential and whatnot. Also, since this is a public blog, I’m scared that people will find it and read about my true thoughts. Anyways, there are feelings that I have that I can’t express here. Nonetheless, less google talk here and more about NYC.
