I have Internet....for now, here it is!

Internet started up again!!!! Still, we don't have our actual Internet yet...but here is my post about NYC straight from MS Words

Moved to New York last Wednesday (9/1). Quite a trip across the country to settle here. Some highlights this past week:

-Felt pretty overwhelmed and surprised when I saw the apartment
-Two roommates, dmah and Don (apparently Don knows a lot of my high school friends, so random)
-within the first two hours of my arrival, I got a free full-size mattress, box spring, and bed frame. We had to carry all these things down the street. Such a crazy experience and first impression in New York
-the next couple days, we went to ikea, target, bb&b, Costco, ikea again, target again, kmart, etc. The eye-opening thing was that you have to only buy enough to carry. There is no truck space
-scored a brand new Samsung HDTV 42” for $400 on craiglist
-I became a Craigslist addict, always looking at the free section
-balling for 3 hours at Roosevelt park
-done a bit of exploring and walking around. I enjoy hiking so walking around isn’t a problem for me. I need to explore more tho!
-spent 1 hr and 30 min on the phone with a directv rep trying to set up cable
-crazy story: so I found a pair of bose speakers on craigslist so I went to pick them up from this guy. He lives in midtown west on the 31st floor. Beautiful place. He pays $3300 for it so he’s pretty baller. This guy is from korea in his late 20’s and we start chatting about different things. The next thing I know is he asks me to teach him English. So now, I’m his English teacher! Haha how crazy is that. Within an hour after I left, he emails me with the schedule and pay. What a story thus far…
-I went to the ucla alumni aka nycbruin board meeting and participate in their planning. Looks like a club that I will be a part of here.
-I woke up early for the student rush Broadway shows. Watched Jersey Boys with Don.
-after close to a week, I finally feel settled down.

Small and cozy place. My theme here is white and bright. It makes me feel happy…
